María lives and embraces her yogic life every single day with an open and positive state of mind. She embarked onto the path of Yoga practice over ten years ago now while searching for a medical alternative for her physical health issues. As a person originating from a tropical country, Colombia, she fell in love with the hot rooms and the various yoga styles, going from a Bikram yoga practice to Kundalini yoga, experiencing Yang and Yin energies and “Ha-tha” power. Throughout her journey she has arrived at the realization that each and every style of yoga ultimately leads us to a deep connection with our true self so that we live a harmonious, balanced life.
María has also been a passionate Latin dancer which is a part of her cultural background. This has lead her to embrace and to get involved in the world of Zumba fitness and its use of multicultural rhythms and styles, all of which she blends seamlessly into her Yoga dance classes.
Mar ía's teaching approach integrates her experience and knowledge from the vast spectrum of alternatives to use the full potential of positive thinking, asanas, visualization, mindful awareness, and breathing exercises, sound healing, guided relaxation, and more, all in order to help and support her students in the accomplishments of their individual goals and achievement of personal well-being.
María is a certified KRI Level 1(Kundalini Research Institute), 220 Hrs Hatha Yoga, Radiant Child Yoga (KRI), Restorative Yoga, Sound Healing Level I, Conscious Communication (KRI Level 2), Zumba and Zumba Gold teacher.
She has attended many workshops and courses, such as Thai Body Yoga Massage, The Neuro-Muscular Physiology of Stretching, Seven windows into the Soul, to name just a few, all with well-known international trainers like Dharma Mittra, Anodea Judith, Dave Stringer (kirtan singer), Ana Forrest, Blake Martin, Maria Garre, Jaime Farfan (Zumba), Amrita Choudhury (nritya Yoga-Yoga of Dance), Devinder Kaur (Gong Sound & KRI Level 1), Satya Brat, Gurucharan Singh Khalsa (KRI Level 3) and others.
She continues to expand her knowledge with a great deal of self study and by exploring different types of physical, emotional and spiritual expressions in her continuing education each year.
